Terms of service

These terms apply to your use of studdy.live, a free virtual study library for students preparing for competitive examinations.

In one paragraph

studdy.live is free, ad-supported and provided without warranty. Video travels directly between browsers and depends on your network. Behave respectfully, follow the community guidelines, keep your background appropriate, and remember that peers can record what they see.

1. The service

studdy.live is a free virtual study library for students preparing for competitive examinations. It provides examination study rooms with peer-to-peer video companions, subject text channels, a Pomodoro timer, a task tracker, study statistics, leaderboards and private study rooms.

By creating an account or using studdy.live you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service.

2. Free, ad-supported, no payment

Every student feature is free. There is no subscription, no paid tier, no credits, no payment gateway and no in-app purchase anywhere in studdy.live.

The service is supported by static image advertisements. Advertisements are clearly labelled as sponsored and are shown in defined placements. studdy.live never asks you for payment details.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use studdy.live only for studying and for discussion that supports studying. The full expectations are set out in the community guidelines, which form part of these terms.

In particular, you must not harass or abuse other students, share examination leaks or cheating material, impersonate anyone, attempt to bypass moderation or rate limits, probe or attack the service, or use the platform to distribute unlawful material.

4. Community guidelines

Read them in full on the community guidelines page.

5. Peer-to-peer connectivity limitation

studdy.live video is transmitted directly between browsers using WebRTC with public STUN servers. No relay is used. Some networks — strict corporate firewalls, certain mobile carriers and locked-down campus networks — block direct connections.

When a direct connection cannot be established, your video simply will not appear to peers and no alternative relay is activated. Chat-Only and Silent Study modes are provided so you can continue studying without video.

6. No warranty

studdy.live is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind. studdy.live does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, that the platform will meet your requirements, or that study statistics will be perfectly accurate.

Study time is measured from platform-active session leases and heartbeats. It is an honest signal of time spent on the platform, not a certification that you were studying. Do not treat studdy.live statistics as an official record.

7. Account suspension and termination

studdy.live may suspend or ban an account that violates these terms or the community guidelines. Suspensions and bans are recorded with the reason on the account.

You can stop using studdy.live at any time and request deletion of your account and study statistics through the feedback form.

8. Students under 18

studdy.live is designed to be safe for students under 18: no private direct messaging between strangers, no anonymous posting, no audio capture, no uploads, public display names only, and blocking and reporting on every surface.

If you are under 18 you should use studdy.live with the knowledge of a parent or guardian, and keep your camera off unless a guardian has agreed otherwise.

9. Content and moderation

You keep ownership of the text you write in chat and tasks. You grant studdy.live permission to store and display that text inside the rooms where you post it, subject to the platform's retention limits.

Administrators may delete messages that violate the guidelines, restrict chat access, suspend or ban accounts, and act on reports.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the platform changes. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use studdy.live after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Questions about these terms can be sent through the feedback form. See also the privacy policy.
